ACGME-Approved Residency Program Expansion

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is excited to announce an ACGME-approved expansion of its residency program to three residents per year starting in 2024. This initiative was led by our current residency Program Director, Yarah Haidar, MD, and builds on the work of the previous Program Director and our Interim Chair, Tjoson Tjoa, MD. It was made possible through the generous support of the UCI Health enterprise. 

The continued growth of our academic faculty has enhanced the comprehensive training experience for our residents, who gain valuable experience with everything from sialendoscopy to hypoglossal nerve implants to complex skull base, ear, and head & neck cancer surgeries.
