This event aims to promote awareness of thoughts, attitudes, and feelings surrounding diagnoses — for both patients and physicians. The evening will include a keynote speaker, creative workshops and a reception for student artists.

UCI Culinary Health: Understanding the Microbiome Series includes 50-minute workshops based on the UCI School of Medicine Culinary Medicine curriculum focusing on the human microbiome. Each class alternates with Chancellor's Fellow and Associate Professor Katrine Whiteson, PhD, and UCI Health SSIHI provider Sanaz Demehry, MS, PA-C, and includes a demonstration from UCI SSIHI Executive Chef Jessica VanRoo on a relevant meal.

UCI Culinary Health Webinar Series: Food for Longevity
Learn about foods for longevity in this 50-minute workshop based on the UCI School of Medicine's culinary medicine curriculum. Presented by Ryan McNally, ND, MS, PA, and UCI Health Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) executive chef Jessica VanRoo. This webinar will feature a cooking demo that includes a pumpkin seed and cashew-crusted salmon with herbed cauliflower rice and a black bean pumpkin brownie. The UCI Culinary Health Webinar series is led by a UCI Health SSIHI provider and includes a demonstration of a relevant daily meal plan consisting of breakfast, lunch and/or dinner dishes. Previously recorded classes, presentations and recipes are available.
