The UCI Advances and Essentials in Cardiology Program is designed to expand upon and fill knowledge gaps brought to the attention of the Cardiology faculty by the physicians, nurses, and staff working in the hospital. Physicians, nurses, and hospital technologists require periodic updates on the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease, procedure techniques, basic hemodynamics, ECG interpretations, use of Pacemaker/AICD, cardiovascular pathophysiology, angiography, heart failure management and diagnosis, cardiovascular imaging, and novel interventional procedures in this dynamic and changing field.
The educational conference will fulfill the educational and clinical requirements and guidelines of specialty societies in Cardiology. The American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, Heart Failure Society of America, Heart Rhythm Society, and Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions recommend periodic updates on current and new cardiology procedures, medications, patient management, techniques, and equipment.
The Society of Invasive Cardiac Professionals recommends periodic updates on current and new catheterization lab techniques and equipment. The UCI Cath Lab Essentials Program was created to further knowledge in this dynamic and changing field.
More UCI faculty speakers will participate in our 2024 program, allowing for an expanded topics list. Catheterization lab nurses and staff will receive updates on the following:
Catheterization lab nurses and technicians, cardiovascular nurses, students, residents, and fellows in training, and local community hospital physicians.
