Hello!! My name is Saloni Shah, an MS3 born and raised in SoCal! I'm from Simi Valley and studied biochemistry and minored in education studies at UCSD. I ended up taking one gap year where I worked as an EMT, medical scribe at a GI office and also as a data researcher in the field of neuroscience education! I am super passionate about teaching and mentoring and am super excited to be y'all's MS2 Curriculum Specialist and MSAT this year. I am interested in emergency medicine as of now (specialty might change so still being flexible with it), but I know for sure that I would like to transition into teaching at some point in the future. On the theme of flexibility, my study habits during MS2 were a little bit of Anki (I felt it was good for memorizing things that are just meant to be memorized), but I supplemented a lot with thorough reviews and study/note sheets. It can be overwhelming, and it is super important to take time for yourself and your family, friends, and hobbies. I am more than happy to talk to anyone if you'd like to reach out. See you soon!
