Hey everyone! My name is Naomie. I am originally from Morocco and lived in Argentina before moving to the US. I attended UCSD, where I earned my master's degree in neurobiology. During medical school, I explored many specialties. Initially, I was interested in pediatric oncology, then emergency medicine, but ultimately decided to pursue surgery during my third year. Global Health is also a topic near and dear to my heart, and I was fortunate to participate in a mission trip to Quito, Ecuador, during my third year. My greatest piece of advice for starting medical school is to build meaningful friendships and find good mentors. This makes the day-to-day experience of medical school not only doable but enjoyable! Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, dancing and discovering new ice cream shops. I look forward to meeting all of you!
