Hello friends! My name is Amanda Tedesco, and I am proud to serve as the Assistant House Director for House Artemis this year! I was raised in the small town of Yucaipa, located an hour east of Irvine at the base of Big Bear Mountain, went to UC Riverside for my bachelor's in neuroscience, worked as a medical assistant for a community orthopaedist during my two gap years before medical school and am currently an MS4 planning to apply into orthopaedic surgery this year. I took a research year between MS3 and MS4 year to do basic science research on rotator cuff muscle stem cell isolation/transplantation/senescence. I also enjoy tutoring for clinical clerkships, mentoring premedical students, snowboarding at new mountains and binging Netflix with my cat. For MS3 year studying, I am a big Anki-er but found that the decks were often a bit repetitive and long for clerkship rotations, so I shifted to focus more on UWorld and a few practice NBMEs just before the real exam. Throughout the year, I made wrong-answer Anki cards for my UWorld questions and that helped with Step 2 studying. Please feel free to reach out for advice!
