Here’s what life is like training at UC Irvine Internal Medicine — Irvine Medical Center. Where to Live UCI Health is located in Orange County, located between Los Angeles one hour to the north and San Diego one hour to the south. Our primary clinical site is the UC Irvine–Irvine Medical Center and Joe C. Wen & Family Center for Advanced Care in Irvine located next to the UC Irvine main campus as well as the UC Irvine-Orange Medical Center located 20 minutes to the north in the City of Orange. Orange County offers a variety of neighborhoods that fit different preferences and budgets. Irvine – Family-oriented and close to both hospitals. Known for its extensive trail network and many local parks and playgrounds. Tustin – A more affordable option north of Irvine with great dining options. Costa Mesa – A vibrant, artsy city with a multitude of shopping and food stops. Santa Ana – Urban, diverse and budget-friendly with a growing food scene. 🚗 Tip: Most residents recommend living within a 15–20 minute drive from the medical center for an easier commute.
