A complete application should include the following: A Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), also known as the dean’s letter. A letter from the chair of the department of medicine or an appointed representative. At least two additional letters of recommendation (ERAS allows a maximum number of letters). A passing score on USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 on the first attempt. While USMLE Step 2 CK or COMLEX Level 2 scores are not required to apply, they must be submitted before the residency begins. Osteopathic students are not required to take the USMLE. Proof of meeting California state licensure requirements, including at least four weeks of family medicine training during medical school, completed either through a structured clerkship or as part of a longitudinal experience. Only applications submitted via ERAS® will be reviewed. Our program also participates in the supplemental ERAS® application process. Please note that we do not consider applications submitted after December 1. All residency positions are offered through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), with Match Day occurring annually in March. Apply Now at ERAS®
