Current Fellow Shaida Omid, MD Meet the Program Director Ali Habib, MD, is a board-certified UCI Health neurologist, specializing in neuromuscular disorders. He earned his medical degree at Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an internal medicine internship neurology residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell and fellowships in neurophysiology at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center and in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and related disorders at the Eleanor & Lou Gehrig ALS Center at Columbia University. Habib’s primary research interest is in myasthenia gravis (MG) and he has been site and lead investigator in several pivotal trials for novel therapies in MG. He also has experience with clinical care for other neuromuscular disorders including ALS, muscle disorders and neuropathies.
