The NIH Pre-submission and Resubmission Programs are initiatives designed to support UC Irvine School of Medicine faculty in preparing highly competitive applications.

This program provides comprehensive support, including:

  • Proposal Writing & Revisions: Assistance with refining your grant narrative.
  • Expert Pre-Review: Critical feedback to strengthen your application.
  • Specialized Proposal Development: Resources tailored to unique needs, helping you craft robust –A1 (resubmission) or restructured –A0 (new) applications.

Pre-submission Program

Submit this request form at least five weeks before the submission deadline. This will allow time for our team to review your application, obtain leadership approval for funding the review, and contact potential reviewers. In addition, this allows time for the reviewer(s) to conduct their review and for you to make the suggested revisions.

  • Prior Submission: Have submitted a new Research Project Grant (RPG) series application (e.g., R01, R21, R03) or a first-time competitive renewal R01 application within the past two years. Applications with any overall impact score will be considered.
