The UC Irvine Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine began as the School of Medicine’s Hospitalist Program, which was founded in 1998 and was one of the nation’s first. Our growing and dynamic division focuses on providing excellent clinical care, education and training. We are well known for our innovative approaches to quality-of-care improvement and patient safety, two areas in which UCI Medical Center ranks among the best in the country.
