The primary qualification for aspiring PRIDE Program students is a dedication to serving LGBTQ+ communities throughout their careers. Applicants with demonstrated service, leadership and commitment to addressing the health and social needs of LGBTQ+ communities will be most competitive for admission.

Applicants should note:

  • Students may have experience with health disparities, often at a personal level, but this is not required.
  • Applicants do NOT need to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community to apply for the PRIDE Program.

Please see the UC Irvine School of Medicine’s application timeline page for more information.

The PRIDE program application does not appear in the UC Irvine secondary application. After acceptance to the UC Irvine School of Medicine, students will be invited to apply for the program via a separate application and interview process.
